Lorna’s debut novel In the Shadow of Winter is a historical mystery with hints of romance and 1950’s Film Noir. She greatly enjoys the work of Mary Stewart, Elizabeth Gaskell, Helen Fielding and Kathy Reichs, and she is one of those people who went on to read The Mysteries of Udolpho after finishing Northanger Abbey. She is familiar with the work of Geoffrey of Monmouth and Homer, and also reads fluent French.
Lorna lives in the Cotswolds with her partner, and a small herd of goats and other four-legged friends. She was born in 1980 in Bedfordshire. She studied Fine Art at Aberystwyth University and spent the many years since developing her expertise in technical drawing and illustration. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
In the Shadow of Winter draws on her love of her local landscape and the wonderful breadth of historical account offered by its residents. In the Shadow of Winter was released by Harper Impulse in early March 2015.
